Merry Christmas from the Turley's

Year 2001 Newsletter from the Montana Turleys

We went bear hunting in Manhattan. Not New York, but Manhattan, Montana and we have a new addition to our family...we call him Lou. Lou really gets into the Christmas spirit.

Our year started with a great vacation to Palm Springs and the Indian Wells Pro Tennis Tournament. Some of our Billings friends were also there, so we had a really good time. It was nice to break up our winter with warm weather in the early part of March.

Kelly moved to Denver on her birthday Mar. 26. She is 25 now...hard to believe. We loaded up Daddy's old "going to the dump" pickup truck and headed for Denver about 1pm. Around Cheyenne we hit the snow. It took 3 1/2 hour from Fort Collins to Kelly's house in Aurora. Unloading the truck into the garage took until midnight and then they went to the Motel 6 near her house. The next morning she had breakfast at "Rosies" near the Motel with her Daddy, and now it has become a regular spot for her.

Bryan started school at Montana State University at Billings in the Fall. He is 22 now, better late than never to start college. He is concentrating on History and Theater as well. He works part time at a local sports bar and keeps so busy we don't see much of him. Tennis fills his summer and we are waiting for the day that he beats his Dad, it won't be long.

Maggie has developed a new hobby. Knitting socks. She continues to play Tennis 2 or 3 times a week and is enjoying being at home. Of course, she still volunteers at the hospital taking pictures of the new born babies. Our house has so many decorations that it is beginning to look like Macy's. A friend gave us a Christmas tree they weren't using and it is a bit bigger than our old one so it has room for more ornaments!

Michael is still running the train and is on the night run from Laurel to Billings and back to Laurel each night. He plays Tennis every Thursday night with a men's group and is teaching himself webpage design. The introduction of remote control engines at MRL gives some uncertainty to his job security, but it looks like the government will let him retire just 10 more years.

Kelly will be home for Christmas Dec. 18 and starts a new job in Denver Jan. 4. Her job in Denver evaporated after the events of 9-11.

Bryan goes back to school Jan. 14th studying History, English and Communications.

We hope this letter finds you all happy and well.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Michael, Maggie, Kelly and Bryan
